We are excited to announce that Kevin Oxendine has joined Pacific Lake as a Partner in charge of our software practice group. Kevin is a two-time successful operator and has been a Pacific Lake Special LP since 2016. Kevin was most recently the COO of Wistia, a software company that during his tenure nearly quadrupled annual recurring revenue (ARR) before executing a successful private equity-backed leveraged recap.
As a Special LP, Kevin worked closely with Pacific Lake entrepreneurs on software deals and recently joined the board of Emporos, a newly acquired search fund software company. Deep Operating & Software Experience
Kevin brings relevant and successful operating experience – both as a COO and CEO – to Pacific Lake. After joining video SaaS company Wistia as COO in 2015, Kevin oversaw the marketing, finance, sales, business development, HR, and business operations functions. To power growth, he created and built new teams, including sales, customer success, and business intelligence. In his three years at Wistia, the business grew from $8M of ARR and 24 employees to more than $30M of ARR and 100 employees. In 2017, Kevin led a debt recapitalization and tender offer to recapitalize the company.
Before working with Wistia, Kevin was CEO of Havit, a technology/media marketing consulting firm based in Washington, DC. As CEO, Kevin grew the business from 5 employees and $6M of capitalized billings to 30 employees and $35M+ of capitalized billings over three years. Earlier in his career, Kevin was Director of Operations for Comcast’s wireless business, responsible for developing the nationwide operating model, and prior to that led sales and marketing for a $500M ARR Comcast business unit.
Kevin is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he received the H.C. Byrd Award, and the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller scholar. He resides outside of Boston with his wife, Kate, and two sons, Teddy and Chase.
Bringing More Resources to Software Searchers and Companies
Pacific Lake developed early insight that the software business model could be a strong fit for search fund entrepreneurs. To that end, we were early investors in search-fund-acquired software companies such as CLEO, Raptor Technologies, and FieldEdge, and subsequently many others. We are increasingly excited about opportunities in the software vertical for search fund entrepreneurs and continue to add additional resources to support software CEOs and companies. We believe Kevin’s expertise and involvement will accelerate software CEOs’ ability to grow and scale their businesses.
